Grüninger Netzwerk GmbH was founded in 1998 by graduate engineer Stephan Grüninger. As a trained aerospace engineer, he started out in the network and telecommunications sector on the basis of copper cables. He independently built networks for his customers and managed their telephone systems.

In the 2000s fiber optic cabling was added as an alternative to DSL connections, and Robin Grüninger has been helping his father at work during vacations or at weekends since his school days, which gave him an early introduction to the subject. After school he trained as an IT specialist in system integration before joining the company in 2016. Together with its colleagues and partners the family business now implements Internet connections and network structures for its customers on a daily basis.
